Madmaheshwar Trek is a popular trekking route in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The trek takes you through some of the most stunning landscapes of the Garhwal region of the Himalayas, with breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, verdant valleys, and pristine forests.The trek starts from the village of Uniana and passes through Gaundhar, Bantoli, Khatara, Nanu, and Budha Madmaheshwar before reaching the Madmaheshwar Temple, which is located at an altitude of 3,289 meters above sea level. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the Panch Kedars (the five holy shrines of Lord Shiva) in Uttarakhand.The trek is considered to be moderate to difficult and requires a good level of physical fitness. It takes around 5-6 days to complete the trek, and the best time to undertake the trek is from May to June and September to November. During these months, the weather is pleasant, and the skies are clear, providing excellent views of the surrounding peaks.The Madmaheshwar Trek offers a unique blend of adventure, spirituality, and natural beauty, making it a must-do trek for anyone who loves to explore the great outdoors.

Itineary

Day 1 : Rishikesh to Ransi (220 Km Drive 8/9 Hrs.)

  • Depart from Rishikesh early in the morning.
  • Drive to Ransi, the base village for the Madmaheshwar Trek.
  • Begin your trek to Gaundhar.
  • Overnight camping at Gaundhar.

Day 2 : Rasi to Madmaheshwar (13 Km Trek 7/8 Hrs)

  • Start your trek early towards Madmaheshwar.
  • Visit the Madmaheshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva.
  • Explore the surroundings.
  • Overnight stay near the temple.

Day 3 : Madmaheshwar to Gaundhar (08 Km Trek 6/7 Hrs)

  • Trek back to Gaundhar.
  • Enjoy the scenic beauty along the way.
  • Overnight camping at Gaundhar.

Day 4 : Gaundhar to Ransi, Return to Rishikesh (06 Km Trek 3/4 hrs and 220 Km Drive)

  • Trek back to Ransi from Gaundhar.

Transport to and from the base camp
The above trek cost includes transport to and from base camp.
Safety equipment
First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
Accommodation
Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accommodation and separate accommodation for girls/ladies will be provided
Meals
All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
Permits/ Forest fees
UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
Experienced Trek Leader & Team
Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assist trek.
Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.

Food during transit to and from the base camp
Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
Mule and Porter charges
Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
