Yatra Overview

The Do Dham Yatra, a sacred pilgrimage to Shri Kedarnath Dham and Shri Badrinath Dham, is a spiritually enriching journey in the Himalayan region of Uttarakhand. Kedarnath Dham, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and sits at an altitude of 3,580 meters, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and breathtaking landscapes. Pilgrims visit this holy site to seek blessings and experience its serene atmosphere. Badrinath Dham, devoted to Lord Vishnu, is located at 3,133 meters in the Garhwal Himalayas, known for its stunning architecture and divine aura. Together, these two sacred shrines form the Do Dham Yatra, offering a perfect blend of spirituality, devotion, and natural beauty. The journey is ideal for those seeking divine blessings while exploring the majestic Himalayan landscapes. The best time for the Do Dham Yatra is from May to October, ensuring a smooth and fulfilling pilgrimage experience.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Haridwar — Guptkashi

Begin your journey from Haridwar, driving through Rudraprayag and Devprayag.
Witness the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi Rivers at Devprayag.
Follow the Mandakini River from Kedarnath as you ascend to Guptkashi.
Visit the Ardh Narishwar (Vishwanath) Temple in Guptkashi.
Check-in at the hotel for an overnight stay.
🔹 Guptkashi – The Hidden Kashi: According to mythology, Lord Shiva first appeared here before retreating to Kedarnath.

Day 2 : Guptkashi — Kedarnath

Early morning drive to Sonprayag, then take a local jeep to Gaurikund.
Begin the 16 km trek to Kedarnath Temple, or opt for helicopter service (at additional cost).
Upon reaching Kedarnath, visit the sacred Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva.
Overnight stay near the temple in Kedarnath.
🔹 Kedarnath Temple: One of the 12 Jyotirlingas, believed to be where Lord Shiva took the form of a bull and disappeared into the earth, leaving his hump visible.

Day 3 : Kedarnath — Guptkashi

Attend the morning Aarti at Kedarnath Temple.
Begin the trek back to Gaurikund, then drive to Guptkashi.
Check-in at your hotel and relax after the trek.
Overnight stay in Guptkashi.

Day 4 : Guptkashi — Badrinath

After breakfast, drive to Badrinath.
Upon arrival, take a holy dip in Tapt Kund (hot water spring) before temple darshan.
Visit Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
Explore Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, and Charan Paduka.
Attend the evening Aarti at the temple.
Overnight stay in Badrinath.
🔹 Badrinath – The Land of Lord Vishnu: One of the Chota Char Dham, believed to be where Lord Vishnu meditated while Goddess Lakshmi took the form of a Badri tree to provide shade.

Day 5 : Badrinath – — Rudraprayag

Early morning darshan at Badrinath Temple.
Drive to Rudraprayag via Joshimath, stopping at Narsingh Temple.
Enjoy scenic views of Alaknanda River and surrounding valleys.
Check-in at the hotel in Rudraprayag for an overnight stay.
🔹 Rudraprayag: The confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini Rivers, a place of great spiritual significance.

Day 6 : Rudraprayag — Haridwar

After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital of the World.
Visit Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, and Triveni Ghat.
Attend the Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat (optional).
Continue the drive back to Haridwar, marking the end of the Do Dham Yatra.
