Terms and Condition

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking with Uttarakhand Trip Trek (UTT). By booking with us, either directly or through an affiliate or third party, you signify your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and agree to be legally bound by them.

1. Privacy Policy

Your registration data and certain other information are subject to our Privacy Policy. For detailed information, please refer to our full Privacy Policy

2. Trip Cancellation by UTT

  • Cancellation by UTT: UTT reserves the right to cancel any trip or tour departure. We will inform you of any cancellation no later than 20 days before the scheduled departure date.
  • Force Majeure: In cases of ‘Force Majeure’ (e.g., natural disasters, political unrest) or government travel advisories, UTT reserves the right to cancel a trip at any time, including guaranteed departures.
  • Alternative Arrangements: UTT will offer you alternative arrangements. If the alternative arrangements are of lesser value than the original booking, UTT will refund the difference.
  • Refunds: If you choose not to accept the alternative arrangements, UTT will refund all payments you have made to us, less any unrecoverable costs.
  • Additional Costs: UTT is not responsible for any additional costs, damages, or claims resulting from these cancellations.

3. Change in Itinerary

  • Flexibility: Traveling with UTT requires flexibility, good humor, and an understanding that itineraries, accommodations, and modes of transport may change, even after a tour has commenced, without prior notice due to local circumstances.
  • Reasons for Changes: These changes may result from factors such as ‘Force Majeure,’ poor road conditions, weather, availability of tickets, vehicle breakdowns, transport schedule changes, accidents, or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • No Compensation: UTT is not responsible for any loss of enjoyment, delays, or compensation arising from circumstances beyond our control.
  • Group Sizes: Group sizes may also vary during the tour.
  • Updated Information: It is your responsibility to review the most up-to-date trip notes and pre-departure information, which can be obtained from UTT or our website. These documents are considered part of the contract.

4. Physical Fitness

  • Exercise Schedule: UTT provides an exercise schedule upon confirmation of your booking, which should be followed before commencing any trip.
  • Health Conditions: If you suffer from severe muscular, chest, heart, asthmatic, or bronchial disorders, or have high blood pressure, you are advised against participating in UTT trekking trips that go to high altitudes.
  • Travelers Over 60: Travelers over the age of sixty must obtain a medical certificate of fitness. If you fail your medical exam, UTT will provide a full refund of your deposit, provided the medical report is submitted within two weeks of booking.
  • Disclosure of Medical Conditions: Failure to disclose any medical conditions may result in you being asked to leave the trip, which may invalidate most insurance policies. UTT reserves the right to cancel your participation at any time during the trip without a refund if your lack of fitness, medical condition, or disability reasonably affects the trip, your safety, or the enjoyment of other participants.

5. Travel Insurance

  • Not Included: Personal travel insurance is not included in the tour/trip price.
  • Recommendation: We strongly recommend that you obtain adequate personal travel insurance to cover accidents, injury, illness, death, medical expenses (including those related to pre-existing conditions), emergency repatriation (including helicopter rescue and air ambulance where applicable), and personal liability.
  • Coverage: We also recommend that your travel insurance covers cancellation, curtailment, and loss of luggage and personal effects.
  • Proof of Insurance: You must carry proof of insurance and provide it if requested by UTT employees or suppliers.

6. Risks Associated

  • Safety: While UTT will make every effort to ensure your safety and adhere to itineraries, circumstances such as political issues or natural difficulties beyond our control may necessitate changes.
  • Alternative Activities: In such events, UTT reserves the right to substitute alternative activities. UTT is not responsible for any costs associated with these changes or delays.
  • Acknowledgment: By accepting these Terms and Conditions, you acknowledge that your decision to travel with UTT is made after considering all relevant travel information provided by UTT and government travel advisories.
  • Injury or Illness: If you suffer injury or illness during the trip, UTT may, at your expense, arrange medical treatment and emergency evacuation if deemed necessary for your safety.
  • Liability: You accept liability for any loss, injury, death, or damage you may suffer in connection with your trip, to the extent permitted by law.
