Chaukhamba is a mountain massif in the Garhwal Himalaya range of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is named after its four peaks, which are arranged in the form of a square. “Chaukhamba” translates to “four pillars” or “four peaks” in Hindi. The four peaks, from west to east, are Chaukhamba I (7138 meters), Chaukhamba II (7068 meters), Chaukhamba III (6974 meters), and Chaukhamba IV (6854 meters).
