Manak Siddh is a sacred shrine located in Budhi Gaon on the Shimla Bypass Road, approximately 16 kilometers away from the Clock Tower in Dehradun. Dedicated to Sage Manak, who was one of the 84 disciples of Lord Dattatreya, it holds significant religious importance. Along with three other pilgrimage sites, Manak Siddh is regarded as one of the four revered pilgrimage destinations of Dehradun. These four sites are strategically situated at a radius of 15 kilometers from the capital city in four different directions.

History of Manak Sidh

Manak Sidh is a significant historical and religious site located near Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India.The site holds deep religious importance for followers of the Sikh faith and is associated with Guru Ram Rai, the eldest son of Guru Har Rai, the seventh Sikh Guru.

According to Sikh tradition, Guru Ram Rai arrived in the Doon Valley in the 17th century, seeking refuge after a dispute with his father over a celestial phenomenon. He settled in what is now known as Dehradun and established a dera (camp) in the area. Manak Sidh is believed to be the place where Guru Ram Rai meditated and attained spiritual enlightenment.
The history of Manak Sidh is intertwined with the broader history of Sikhism and the development of the Sikh community in northern India. Today, Manak Sidh remains a revered site, attracting devotees and tourists alike who come to pay their respects and seek spiritual solace.
