Timmersain Mahadev-Baba Barfani
Situated 700 metres above the main road on Timarsain mountain, a sacred cave holds the Lord Shiva Shivaling. It is located on the Joshimath-Niti highway, just 1 km before the famous Niti hamlet. Local villagers pay their respects during the summer months. As winter approaches, an icy Shivling, referred to as Baba Barfani, similar to the one in Amarnath, forms in the cave. This impressive Baba Barfani, reaching a height of 2-3 feet, becomes a revered site for Lord Shiva devotees. Known as Baba Barfani, the locals have been worshiping here for decades, and this sacred site is visible from March to mid-April each year.
