Overview

The Char Dham Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage to four revered Hindu temples—Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath—nestled in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand. These holy shrines are dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, Goddess Ganga, Lord Shiva, and Lord Vishnu, respectively. Undertaking this yatra is believed to wash away sins and lead to salvation (moksha). The journey starts from Haridwar, Rishikesh, or Dehradun, covering scenic landscapes, high-altitude temples, and spiritually significant sites. Pilgrims visit Yamunotri first, followed by Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, completing a divine circuit of devotion.
