Valley of Flowers

Situated at a height of 3,800m above the sea level, the trek to this mountain pass in Uttarakhand offers various levels of challenges to the trekkers. Offering an enthralling trekking experience, Kedarkantha winter trek usually originate from Sankri; which can be easily reached from Dehradun and takes the trekkers through the immaculate beauty of the vicinity. From snow-capped Himalayan peaks to a frozen pond, meadows covered with snow to some of the other mesmerising peaks, this trek offers all the marvels, a trekker can wish for! Not just for the trekkers, Kedarkantha winter trek is also an ideal trek for the nature lovers, shutterbugs and other classes of travellers as well. Within the 6 exciting days of this expedition, the trekkers are rewarded with magical views, exhilarating experiences and delightful moments!

Itineary

Day 1 — Haridwar​/Rishikesh - GovindGhat/Joshimath (6,151 ft) (Drive/287 km) (8 - 9 Hours)

  • Drive to Joshimath via Devprayag. On the way visit Devprayag where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet. The confluence makes it The Holy Ganges.
  • Arrival at Joshimath by evening, Joshimath: The religious centre, established by Adi Shankaracharya, which he called Jyotirmath, later came to be known as Joshimath.
  • Near by temples one can visit are Nav Durga and Narsingh

Day 2 — Joshimath to Ghangaria By Helicopter and trek to Valley to flowers

  • After an early breakfast drive to Govindghat. Which is the starting point of the trek
  • Board the helicopter for approx. 8 Minutes flying, arrive Ghangharia (Altitude-10000 Feet). Check-out from the helipad,
  • get the entry pass to enter in Valley of flowers. Start the trek or hire pony as per the convenience. cross the old bridge on Pushpawati river & start your trek to witness the unmatched beauty of the valley. The trek is full of natural flora & fauna.
  • Upon arrival at Ghangaria check into Camp. Explore The surroundings in the evening.

Day 3 — Ghangaria (8,050 ft) – Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara & Lake (11,320 ft ) (10 Km Trek 6 to 7 hours)

  • Rise early to take a 7 kms trek to Hemkund Sahib. Hemkund Sahib is the most venerated Sikh Shrines, and considered to be the World’s Highest Gurudwara at an altitude of 4,329 m.
  • 6 km Hemkund Trek (Each Way), heads to Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara & Lake
  • Start trekking back to Ghangria, Campsite and an overnight stay. ad Ghangria.

Day 4 — Depart from GovindGhat/Joshimath to Rishikesh

  • Early morning after breakfast, board the helicopter for Govindghat Helipad then take the vehicle for Rishikesh
  • The awesome tour ends here

Departure Dates

Day 1:- 8/9 hours drive from Haridwar to Joshimath.
Day 2:- Drive from Joshimath (6,150 ft) to GovindGhat (6,300 ft). By Air to Ghangria (9,843 ft); 3 Min, and Start trek Valley of Flowers (11,500 ft) and back; 6 hours, 5km each way
Day 3:- Ghangria (9,600) to Hemkund Sahib (14,107 ft) and back; 8-9 hours, 5.5 km each way and back to Govind Ghat by Air , Drive to Joshimath (6,150 ft); 1 hours, 20 km drive
Day 4:- Depart from Joshimath. You will reach Haridwar between 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm.

Inclusions


Transport to and from the base camp
The above trek cost includes transport to and from base camp.
Safety equipment
First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
Accommodation
Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accommodation and separate accommodation for girls/ladies will be provided
Meals
All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
Permits/ Forest fees
UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
Experienced Trek Leader & Team
Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assist trek.
Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.

Exclusions


Food during transit to and from the base camp
Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
Mule and Porter charges
Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
Personal Expense
Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
