Overview

The Kedarnath Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage that takes devotees on a spiritual journey from Haridwar to Kedarnath, covering a span of 4 days. The yatra begins with a scenic drive from Haridwar to Guptkashi, a picturesque town nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas. Pilgrims visit the Vishwanath Temple before continuing towards Sonprayag and Gaurikund, the base of the trek to Kedarnath. The 19 km trek to Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is an enriching experience filled with stunning mountain landscapes, gushing rivers, and spiritual chants that create a divine atmosphere. Those unable to trek can opt for pony, palki, or helicopter services.

After seeking blessings at Kedarnath Dham, pilgrims descend back to Gaurikund and Guptkashi for an overnight stay. The final leg of the journey takes them to Rishikesh, where they can visit the famous Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, and Triveni Ghat, witnessing the grand Ganga Aarti before returning to Haridwar.
