Visiting Adi Kailash during race week
Runners report to Gunji from 20 Oct, so expect more traffic and busier stays on the Dharchula–Gunji road and in the Vyas Valley villages in the week of the event. If you are planning an Adi Kailash and Om Parvat yatra around these dates, book stays early and allow extra time for the Inner Line Permit, which is still needed for every visitor.
Late October is cold at these altitudes and early snow is possible higher up. Check the road status page and the weather alerts page before you set out; the event help desk is in Dharchula.
