Camping in Chopta

Chopta is also known as “Mini Switzerland“, and is getting popular year after year. Chopta Hill Station is located at an altitude of 2700 mts, in the Rudraprayag District of Uttarakhand State. Chopta is surrounded by dense forest, and offers majestic view of Snow Clad Himalayan Ranges and lush green meadows.

It is also the starting point of the trek to famous Tungnath Mandir (Panch Kedar Temple) and Chandrashila Summit . The Chopta region is rich in varied flora and fauna, with plenty of Rhododendron and Deodar trees all around.

Day 1 : Check into the Campsite | Trekking | Camping

  • Check-in to your campsite between 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and relax for a while.
  • The Chopta campsite, settle in, and enjoy a hearty breakfast.
  • Begin your trekking adventure. The most popular trek in Chopta is the Chandrashila Trek.
  • It's a moderate-level trek that offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas and surrounding valleys.
  • The trail takes you through lush forests and serene meadows. Enjoy a packed lunch on the way.
  • Return to the campsite in the evening. Freshen up and unwind.
  • You can indulge in some campsite activities, such as bonfires, stargazing, and sharing stories with fellow campers.
  • Have dinner and retire for the night.

Day 2 : Trekking, Sightseeing, and Check-out

  • Wake up early to witness a mesmerizing sunrise over the Himalayas. Capture the breathtaking views in your memories and photographs.
  • After breakfast, embark on another trekking adventure.
  • You can explore other nearby trails or opt for a shorter trek, like the Tungnath Temple trek.
  • The Tungnath Temple is one of the highest Shiva temples in the world and offers stunning vistas.
  • Return from the trek and have lunch at the campsite.
  • You could visit Deoria Tal, a pristine lake surrounded by lush forests and snow-capped peaks, or Ukhimath, a sacred town with historical and cultural significance.
  • Return to the campsite, Spend your last evening at the campsite relishing the beauty of nature.
  • Breakfast and Check out from Camp.

Transport to and from the base camp
The above trek cost includes transport to and from base camp.
Safety equipment
First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
Accommodation
Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accomodation and seprate accomodation for girls/ladies will be povided
Meals
All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
Permits/ Forest fees
UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
Experienced Trek Leader & Team
Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assiston trek.
Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.

Exclusions


Food during transit to and from the base camp
Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
Mule and Porter charges
Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
Personal Expense
Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
