The attractive undulating environment of Darma Valley Trek  is dotted with lush forests, sparkling streams, mesmerising waterfalls, and magnificent alpine meadows that are home to colorful wildflowers.The Darma River sculpts the Darma Valley (Darmaganga). Dhauli Ganga meanders through the valley. Here, trekking is an exhilarating, once-in-a-lifetime event.The trekking route travels via mesmerising panoramas, ephemeral glaciers, coniferous forests, wide pastures, charming hamlets, and more.The Darma  Valley Trek also has importance in Hindu mythology.Before departing for Heaven, it is stated that the Pandavas prepared their final meal atop the five peaks of the Panch Chuli Massif.The town of Sobla serves as the starting point for this moderate to challenging trek.

Itineary

Day 1 : Kathgodam to Dharchula

  • 325Kms 8 hrs.
  • When you arrive in Kathgodam, you will be welcomed and taken by Taxi to Darchula.
  • You will stop midway for lunch.
  • Beautiful place Darchula, a tiny village on the right bank of the Kali River, is where you will be arriving in the evening.
  • After reaching here,check into the Guest House/Hotel. Have some rest.

Day 2 Trek from Dharchula – Sobla (2 hours Drive)

  • Drive 2 Hrs trek 04 hrs
  • The trail now heads north, crossing Dharchula and Tawa Ghat, turning westward into.then canyon and following the Dhauli Ganga River until it reaches Sobla.
  • Our trke begins at Sobla, which is at a height of around 1670 metres and the starting point for the Darma Valley entry.
  • Our destination is Dar Village (2134 metres) which is 5 kilometres.
  • From Sobla we pitch up here for the night.

Day 3 : Trek from Dar to Sela

  • 2438 metres /12 kms/5-6 hours
  • The trek today is not only difficult but also incredibly long.
  • The trek from the Dar to Sela goes ahead through hillsides of the lush green pastoral fields.
  • The campground is situated on Sela's outskirts.

Day 4 : Trek from Sela - Baling

  • 2743 mts/11 kms/5-6 hours
  • Due to the straightforward and trouble-free nature of today's trek, it is comparatively lot easier.
  • The trail to Baling moves from the up and down hillsides, but the altitude gained is quite moderate.
  • The breathtaking views of the far glaciers are visible from here, and the eagerness to continue the climb is tremendous.
  • We'll spend the night camped out here.

Day 5 : Trek from Baling - Duktu

  • 3048 metres/ 6 kilometres 3 hours
  • The final settlements of human in this section of the Darma valley are the two neighbouring villages of Duktu and Dantu.
  • From here the views of the Panchachuli peaks are just spectacular.
  • In the outskirts of Duktu, there is a large meadow that provides the ideal environment for viewing the magnificent Panchachuli glacier, with the magnificent backdrop of the towering Panchachuli peaks.
  • This location is ideal for taking beautiful photos because it is photogenic .
  • At this location, we'll spend the night.

Day 6 : Trek from Duktu - Panchachuli

  • 4 kilometres each way; 5 hrs
  • This will be a historic and thrilling day as we leave our base camp in Duktu to explore the magnificent Panchachuli glacier.
  • The glacier projects towards the outside from the East face of the Panchachuli and a 4 kilometres trek from the camp site beside the Yuli River leads towards the massive and magnificent glacier itself.
  • The location itself gives a breathtaking panoramic view of a vast meadow ringed by tall oak and birch trees with the formidable Panchachuli (6904 metres /22652 feet) in the distance.

Day 7 : Trek from Duktu -Nagling

  • 2743 metres/11 kilometres
  • Today we will commence on return trek.
  • The trail from Duktu to Nagling is a steady descent.
  • The trek will take about 5 hours to complete from Duktu to Nagling.
  • Stay overnight in Nagling.

Day 8 : Trek from Nagling - Bungling

  • 12 kilometres.
  • Day Nine is the last day of our trek.
  • We will arrive in Bungling by lunchtime.
  • After taking a short break, we depart from here and board a jeep that will take us back to Dharchulla.
  • Stay overnight in Dharchula.

Day 9 : Dharchula –Kathgodam

  • Say Goodbye this beautiful , that you will always remember .
  • Get a drive down to Kathgodam and reach by evening to take the overnight train/bus to New Delhi.

Transport to and from the base camp
The above trek cost includes transport to and from base camp.
Safety equipment
First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
Accommodation
Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accommodation and separate accommodation for girls/ladies will be provided
Meals
All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
Permits/ Forest fees
UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
Experienced Trek Leader & Team
Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assist trek.
Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.

Exclusions


Food during transit to and from the base camp
Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
Mule and Porter charges
Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.

Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
