Chopta Trek is a captivating and accessible Best  weekend trek located in the picturesque state of Uttarakhand, India. Renowned for its short and easy nature, this trek has become a favorite among both novice and experienced trekkers. The trail of Trek runs parallel to the towering Himalayan peaks, providing breathtaking views and a serene escape into nature.

One of the prominent attractions along the Chopta Trek is Tunganath, the highest temple in Uttarakhand. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this ancient temple adds a spiritual dimension to the trekking experience. As you ascend through lush green forests, the landscapes undergo a mesmerizing transformation, keeping trekkers captivated throughout the journey.

The highlight of  Trek is undoubtedly the ancient Tungnath temple. Positioned at a significant altitude, it offers panoramic views of majestic peaks, including Panchchuli, Nanda Devi, Nilkanth, and Kedarnath. The trail is thoughtfully crafted with transitions that ensure a smooth and engaging journey, making the trek suitable for a wide range of adventurers.

The trek doesn’t conclude with Tungnath; it extends further to the Chandrashilla Summit, providing an awe-inspiring panoramic vista of the Himalayas. The use of passive voice in describing the surroundings adds a touch of wonder and amazement to the narrative.

Chopta trek  itself offers a picturesque view of the Himalayan range, with vibrant Rhododendron forests adding a burst of color, especially during the early spring when the flowers bloom, turning the landscape into a stunning red carpet.

Itineary

Day 1: Drive Rishikesh -Chopta via Devprayag

  • We will start from Rishikesh in morning, Pick Up Point is rishikesh tapowant chowk, Pick Up Time is 6:00 am, Distance- 210 km
  • Driving Time- 7 hour
  • The day is kept at your leisure, with options of spending the day resting, clicking photographs, going for short walks around the meadows or interacting with the locals and fellow travelers
  • Overnight stay in camps surrounded by mountain peaks and serenity beauty

Day 2: Chopta to Tungnath,Chandrashilla Top and back to Chopta

  • Distance- 8 km Trekking Time- 7-8 hour
  • Altitude- 13,100 ft
  • Early morning, wake up to the mesmerizing beauty and fill yourself with breakfast
  • Start your trek to Tungnath,Chandrashilla Top (3680 mts.)
  • At 3680 mts we will be at Tungnath, one of the Panch Kedars, Tungnath is the highest Shiva Temple in the world
  • Just trek for a few more km's and we shall reach the highest destination of our trek, Chandrashila Peak.
  • 360-degree view of the Mountains of Garhwal and Kumaon- Nanda Devi, Trishul, Nandaghunti, Kamet, Dronagiri, Chaukhamba, Kedar dome, Thalaysagar, Gangotri ranges, Jahanukut etc.
  • Overnight stay in camp

Day 3: Chopta to Deorital return journey for Rishikesh / Delhi (Drive 7 hours)

  • Early morning post breakfast begin with your trek for a 2.5 KM trek towards Deoria Tal.
  • On reading the spot, pack your luggage and start descending back at around 10:30 AM with a car to Rishikesh
  • End of the trip with happy memories.

Transport to and from the base camp
The above trek cost includes transport to and from base camp.
Safety equipment
First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
Accommodation
Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accomodation and seprate accomodation for girls/ladies will be povided
Meals
All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
Permits/ Forest fees
UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
Experienced Trek Leader & Team
Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assiston trek.
Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.

Exclusions


Food during transit to and from the base camp
Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
Mule and Porter charges
Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
Personal Expense
Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
