The Satopanth Trek offers the best of nature, including dense woods, snow-covered pathways, stunning sunrises, and breathtaking waterfalls. This walk has it all to provide you a once-in-a-lifetime experience of adventure, beauty, and calm, including high peaks covered in snow, dense woods, lovely villages, old temples, and historical sites. Residents of Mana village scatter the ashes of the deceased into the lake, which is revered by the locals as having sacred significance. This green triangular lake, nestled among the towering hills of the Garhwal region, offers a tranquil atmosphere. Pass through Mana, the last settlement in India, and see the 400-foot-tall Vasudhara Falls. Itineary

Day 1 — Rishikesh - Badrinath/Joshimath (6,151 ft) (Drive/287 km) (8 - 9 Hours)

  • Drive to Badrinath via Devprayag. On the way visit Devprayag where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet. The confluence makes it The Holy Ganges.
  • Arrival at Badrinath by evening, Badrinath: The religious centre, established by Adi Shankaracharya, which he called Jyotirmath, later came to be known as Joshimath.
  • Near by temples one can visit are Badrinath

Day 2 — Badrinath to Laxmiban (12,000 ft) - 8.5 km

  • After an early breakfast start trek to Laxmiban. Which is the starting point of the trek
  • you will see the mighty 400 ft Vasudhara falls on the opposite banks after a while. The trail climbs gradually till Somtoli,
  • Upon arrival at Laxmiban check into Camp. Explore The surroundings in the evening.

Day 3 — Laxmiban to Chakrateerth (13658 ft) - 9.5 km

  • Rise early to take a 9. kms trek to Chakrateerth. We begin to trek up to Laxmi Van and thereon to Sahastra Dhara. After having packed lunch we proceed towards Chakratirtha.
  • We will start with a sharp ascent through boulders and scree to Sahastra Dhar. As we climb up the valley, views of NIlkanth, Balakun and Chaukhamba open up
  • overnight stay at Camp

Day 4 — Chakrateerth to Satopanth Lake (14258 ft) to Chakrateerth - 7.5 km

  • Trek from Chakrateerth to the Satopanth, Chakratirtha to Satopanth Lake is around 5 km through moraine and seasonal glacier
  • Satopanth lake is a three-cornered lake with icy cold, crystal clear, emerald waters with a circumference of about 1-2 km, it is situated at an elevation of 4465 mts above sea leave.
  • After spending some time at the lake, we will return to Chakrateerth for the night.
  • Back to Chakrateerth for overnight stay.

Day 5 — Chakrateerth to Chamtoli (11745 ft) - 11 km

  • Trek from Ghangria (9,600 ft) to Govind Ghat (6,300 ft). The morning after breakfast trek up to Chakartirtha ,there is large formation of glaciers which continue on to the Gaumukh snout of the Bhagirathi ,dinner and over night stay at Camp

Day 6 — Chamtoli to Mana - 6.5 km. Drive to Joshimath.

  • Trek down to Mana Village. Visit Ganesh and Vyas Gufa. Drive to Badrinath and visit the temple. After lunch drive to Joshimath.

Day 7 — Depart from Badrinath/Joshimath to Rishikesh

  • Depart from Badrinath/Joshimath. You will reach Rishikesh between 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm.

Satopanth Trek Highlights

Discover Satopanth Tal, a triangle lake at a height of 4600 metres with emerald green water.

Transport to and from the base camp
The above trek cost includes transport to and from base camp.
Safety equipment
First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
Accommodation
Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accommodation and separate accommodation for girls/ladies will be provided
Meals
All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
Permits/ Forest fees
UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
Experienced Trek Leader & Team
Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assist trek.
Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.

Exclusions


Food during transit to and from the base camp
Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
Mule and Porter charges
Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
Personal Expense
Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
