Itineary

Day 1 : Arrival at Kanakchauri Village

  • Arrive at Kanakchauri Village from your point of origin (such as Rishikesh or Haridwar).
  • Settle into your accommodation or campsite.
  • Explore the local surroundings, get accustomed to the altitude, and prepare for the upcoming trek.
  • Rest and have a good night's sleep to acclimatize.

Day 2 : Trek to Kartikswami (3 kms one side). Drive to Chopta, night stay in Chopta hotel.

  • Start early after breakfast and begin the trek to Kartik Swami Temple.
  • The trek involves a moderately steep ascent through forests and meadows, offering glimpses of the stunning Himalayan vistas.
  • Reach Kartik Swami Temple, dedicated to Lord Kartikeya, and enjoy the panoramic views of the Garhwal region.
  • After spending some time at the temple, descend back to Kanakchauri Village.
  • From Kanakchauri, drive to Chopta, which is your base for the next day's trek.
  • Set up your campsite or accommodation in Chopta, and rest for the night.

Day 3 : Trek to Tungnath and Chandrashilla, stay in Chopta

  • Begin your trek to Tungnath after an early breakfast.
  • The trek to Tungnath is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
  • Reach Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world. Take in the spirituality and breathtaking views.
  • Continue your trek to Chandrashila Peak, which offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks.
  • After spending time at Chandrashila, descend back to Chopta.
  • Relax, enjoy a campfire, and share your trekking experiences with fellow travelers.

Day 4: Departure from Chopta

  • Have a leisurely morning, enjoy your final breakfast amidst the serene landscapes of Chopta.
  • Pack up your belongings and check out from the campsite or accommodation.
  • Depart from Chopta with memories of the trek and the beautiful landscapes.
  • You can drive back to your point of origin or continue your onward journey.

Transport to and from the base camp
The above trek cost includes transport to and from base camp.
Safety equipment
First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
Accommodation
Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accommodation and separate accommodation for girls/ladies will be provided
Meals
All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
Permits/ Forest fees
UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
Experienced Trek Leader & Team
Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assist trek.
Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.

Exclusions


Food during transit to and from the base camp
Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
Mule and Porter charges
Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
Personal Expense
Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
