Importance of Ardha Badri
Ardh Badri holds a distinctive significance among the Badri temples in the Garhwal region, distinguished by the smaller size of the idol of Lord Vishnu, measuring nearly half in scale compared to its counterparts. This characteristic gives rise to the name Ardh Badri, meaning ‘half Badri.’ Rooted in ancient mythological narratives, Adi Shankaracharya constructed a group of seven temples referred to as the ‘Sapta Badri’ temples. This initiative aimed to propagate Hinduism to various parts of the country, marking Ardha Badri as an integral part of this sacred endeavor.
