In Hindu legend, the village of Hanol was tormented by Mandarth, a demon who devoured a villager daily. A devotee of Lord Shiva sought help, leading to a battle. Lord Shiva instructed Deolari Devi to send her four sons, and after a fierce encounter, they triumphed over the demon. Years later, while plowing a field, a villager discovered four Shivalingas named after Deolari Devi’s sons. Since then, Hanol villagers have worshipped Lord Shiva as Mahasu Devta.
