Trishul

Trishul is a prominent mountain massif in the Himalayas, located in the Uttarakhand region of India. It is part of the Garhwal Himalayas and lies in the Kumaon division. The name “Trishul” is derived from its three prominent peaks that resemble the trident (trishul) weapon of the Hindu deity Lord Shiva.

Trishul In Bageshwar

Trishul, located in western Kumaon near Bageshwar, Uttarakhand, comprises three impressive peaks. Trishul I, the primary peak, stands at over 7,122 meters and holds historical significance as the first peak over this height to be climbed, dating back to 1907. Trishul II and Trishul III were conquered in 1960 by a Yugoslav team approaching from the Bidalgwar Glacier. They ascended Trishul II from the southern edge and Trishul III from the northern edge, marking notable achievements in mountaineering history.

The Three peaks of Trishul are:

Trishul I (also known as Main Peak)– It is the highest peak in the Trishul massif, standing at an elevation of approximately 7,120 meters (23,360 feet).
Trishul II – This peak stands at an elevation of around 6,690 meters (21,949 feet).
Trishul III – The third peak has an elevation of approximately 6,007 meters (19,711 feet).
