Five distinct water streams, known as Panch Dhara, emerge from Badrinath. They Name Prahlad Dhara, Kurma Dhara, Bhrigu Dhara, Urvashi Dhara and Indira Dhara, collectively known as ‘Panch Dharas’ at Badrinath.
